Smurfit Westrock has confirmed plans to delist its ordinary shares from the London Stock Exchange in June, following the strategic review announced in April.
Once the delisting takes effect, the packaging producer will remain solely listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
The company said its board reviewed trading activity on the London market, along with the additional regulatory, administrative and cost requirements associated with maintaining the dual listing, before determining that the move was in the company’s best interests.
Smurfit Westrock will now request that the UK Financial Conduct Authority cancel the listing of its ordinary shares from the FCA’s Official List, while also seeking the cancellation of trading on the London Stock Exchange’s main market.
According to the company, the delisting is expected to become effective at 8:00 a.m. UK time on June 22, 2026. The final trading day for the company’s shares on the London market is expected to be June 19.
The decision follows a review launched earlier this year as Smurfit Westrock continued aligning its capital markets strategy with its global packaging operations and U.S.-focused listing structure.
Formed through the combination of Smurfit Kappa and WestRock, the company operates across containerboard, corrugated packaging and paperboard markets, serving consumer goods, e-commerce and industrial sectors through an international network of mills and converting facilities.
Smurfit Westrock said shareholder guidance and frequently asked questions regarding the delisting process are available through its investor relations platform.
