Green financing linked to forest and production projects
Stora Enso has published its Green and Sustainability-Linked Financing Report 2025, outlining how the company allocates funding raised through green bonds and sustainability-linked loans.
At the end of 2025, the company had eight outstanding green bonds or bilateral loans, with a total nominal value of €1.658 billion.
No new green bonds were issued during the year.
Funding focused on forestry and industrial processes
According to the report, proceeds from the financing instruments are allocated to two categories defined in the company’s green financing framework:
- sustainable forest management
- sustainable product processes
These categories include investments linked to forest management practices as well as improvements in industrial production processes.
Transparency on environmental impacts
The report also provides information on the environmental impacts associated with the financed projects.
These impacts relate to the company’s broader strategy to support the development of a circular bioeconomy and reduce climate-related emissions across its operations.
Stora Enso publishes the report annually to disclose how proceeds from green financing instruments are allocated and how the associated projects contribute to environmental performance.
