2025 WPC & NCASI Regulatory & Technical Workshop: Advancing Collaboration for Environmental Solutions

Event News

The Wisconsin Paper Council (WPC) and the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement (NCASI) will co-host the 2025 Regulatory & Technical Workshop on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (CT) at Miron Construction Corporate Headquarters in Neenah, Wisconsin, USA.

As the premier trade association representing Wisconsin’s papermaking industry for over 50 years, WPC advocates before regulatory bodies and legislative institutions to promote sound policy outcomes that support sustainable manufacturing. The pulp and paper industry remains a cornerstone of Wisconsin’s economy, employing more than 30,000 people and generating an annual payroll exceeding $2.5 billion. Wisconsin continues to lead the nation in paper production, with annual output valued at over $18 billion.

Complementing WPC’s advocacy and policy leadership, NCASI serves as the leading non-profit environmental research organization for the North American forest products industry. For over 80 years, NCASI has provided independent, science-based data and technical expertise to address complex environmental challenges related to air, water, and waste management, as well as sustainability metrics and greenhouse gas accounting. The organization’s research and guidance help mills and manufacturers meet evolving environmental standards and demonstrate continuous improvement in performance.

NCASI’s collaboration with WPC underscores the critical connection between sound science, effective regulation, and sustainable industrial practice, an intersection that drives innovation and long-term competitiveness across the sector.

This one-day, in-person event will convene approximately 70 professionals from WPC and NCASI member companies, including scientists, engineers, environmental managers, attorneys, and policy specialists. The program will feature updates from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), NCASI researchers, and industry experts. A highlight of the workshop will be a roundtable discussion, Collaborating for Environmental Solutions: The Intersection of Industry, Regulators, and Research, where panelists will share insights and strategies while facilitating an open discussion on advancing compliance, sustainability, and innovation.
