Ranpak has unveiled GrasiKraft™, a void fill paper made from a blend of grass fibers and recycled paper.

This product combines the soft texture and natural look of grass with the strength required for protective packaging. Developed in partnership with Creapaper, GrasiKraft demonstrates Ranpak’s effort to diversify the sources of renewable fibers used in packaging.

By integrating grass fibers into its core product lineup, Ranpak becomes the first company to offer grass-based paper as a standard void fill option. Grass is a renewable resource, harvested multiple times a year, and its use in paper production can reduce water consumption compared to conventional kraft paper.

GrasiKraft’s unique texture and natural appearance support a sustainable brand image. The paper is biodegradable and fully curbside recyclable, promoting circular economy principles. The combination of grass and recycled kraft paper provides a balance of performance and sustainability, making GrasiKraft suitable for in-box packaging needs.

Grass fibers are sourced from areas such as agricultural land margins and re-wetted moorlands, which enhances biodiversity and optimizes land use. This approach supports Ranpak’s focus on responsible sourcing and environmental impact reduction.

Ranpak’s launch of GrasiKraft represents an important step in expanding the use of alternative fibers and enhancing sustainable practices in packaging.
