Company profile

VPK Group is marking 25 years of operations in the UK and Ireland with a forward-looking investment plan aimed at boosting capacity, efficiency, and sustainability.

The initiative reflects the company’s continued confidence in the market and underscores its commitment to delivering innovative, high-performance packaging solutions.

The Belgian family-owned group, which is also celebrating its 90th anniversary globally this year, began its UK journey in August 2000 with the acquisition of a small packaging facility. Since then, it has grown significantly, developing major sites in Desborough, Selby, and Wellington, and forming strategic joint ventures with Fencor and McLaren.

Today, VPK UK and Ireland operates an integrated network of production facilities, supported by paper mills in Belgium and Normandy. This vertical integration allows the company to offer a broad range of packaging solutions with strong local responsiveness.

The new investment programme includes the installation of a high-end Masterflex printer in Banbury, a 618 casemaker in Selby, and machinery upgrades across other key sites. These developments are part of VPK’s Eight-Step Solution Cycle, a framework focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

“Our strength lies in combining the scale and resilience of an international group with the agility, intimacy, and customer focus of a local partner,” said Pierre Macharis, CEO of VPK Group. “These investments reflect our long-term vision and our commitment to more sustainable and smarter packaging.”

VPK’s latest investments mark a continued focus on modernizing its UK operations while maintaining close ties with customers and industry partners.
