VPK Group has announced the acquisition of Open Imballaggi S.p.A., a corrugated cardboard packaging specialist based near Bergamo, Italy.
This strategic move further strengthens VPK’s presence in one of Europe’s largest and most dynamic packaging markets.
Located in Calcinate, Lombardy, Open Imballaggi operates from a modern 22,000 m² facility, bolstered by recent investments of €7 million, including a new 6-color rotary die cutter. The company generates an annual turnover of €30 million, produces 40 million m² of boxes per year, and serves around 700 clients across industries such as food and beverage, cosmetics, e-commerce, and automotive. It employs approximately 70 people.
Open Imballaggi’s location and capabilities will complement VPK’s existing Italian operations, which include Zetacarton and IEMME, supporting further growth in the key industrial region around Bergamo.
Founded by the Marsetti family, Open Imballaggi has a history dating back to 1908. VPK Group plans to maintain the company’s strong family-driven culture, emphasizing customer relationships, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and ongoing investment in people and innovation.
