Mondi has strengthened its containerboard offering to meet the rising demand for sustainable and high-performance packaging solutions.
With a portfolio that spans fully recycled to 100% virgin fibre paper grades, Mondi aims to serve a broad range of applications, from eCommerce and fresh produce to industrial and long-distance transport.
The ProVantage containerboard range, available in both brown and white, provides tailored solutions for corrugated packaging, honeycomb structures, and fibre drums. The product line includes appearance grades for premium printability, kraft options for maximum strength, recycled papers for sustainability, and semi-chem grades designed for moisture resistance and durability.
“As sustainability expectations rise, businesses need packaging that protects their products while reducing environmental impact,” said Remy Eecke, Senior Value Chain and Sustainability Manager at Mondi Containerboard. “Our containerboard papers are 100% recyclable and made from sustainably sourced materials, helping brands stay competitive in an eco-conscious market.”
To meet growing demand, Mondi is investing in production capacity. The upcoming Duino mill in northern Italy, set to launch in 2025, will produce 100% recycled fluting and Testliner 3. This follows recent advancements at Mondi’s Ružomberok mill in Slovakia, where the ProVantage SmartKraft White—a hybrid of fresh and recycled fibres—was introduced in 2021.
Beyond materials, Mondi offers customers digital tools and expert services that optimise efficiency and reduce waste. The Orange Board service helps clients improve board performance and streamline production. Meanwhile, the myMondi platform simplifies procurement, tracks deliveries, and provides actionable insights for smarter supply chain decisions.
With over a century of papermaking experience, Mondi positions itself as a reliable partner for businesses navigating the evolving demands of sustainable packaging. By combining innovation, expert support, and a secure supply chain, the company continues to drive value across industries.
