Essity Delivers Record Margin in 2025

Financial News

Essity has published its Annual Report 2025, reporting improved profitability, organic sales growth and continued shareholder returns in a challenging market environment.

Net sales reached SEK 138 billion for the year. EBITA excluding items affecting comparability totaled SEK 19.6 billion, corresponding to a margin of 14.1% — the company’s highest level in five years. Earnings per share increased by 7%.

A second share buyback program of SEK 3 billion was launched in April 2025. The Board of Directors is proposing a 6% increase in the dividend to SEK 8.75 per share.

Organic sales grew across all business areas. Incontinence Products, Feminine Care and Medical Solutions delivered particularly strong performances, along with selected segments in Professional Hygiene.

Market conditions remained uneven. Lower activity in the hotel and restaurant sector dampened demand in Professional Hygiene, while low birth rates continued to weigh on Baby Care volumes. Despite these pressures, Essity maintained positive organic growth.

“We increased our sales organically and achieved our highest margin in five years in a turbulent world and weak economic conditions,” said President and CEO Ulrika Kolsrud in her message to shareholders.

A stable cash flow supported investment in growth while maintaining a solid financial position.

The full Annual Report 2025, including financial statements and sustainability disclosures, is available on Essity’s website.
