Billerud plans to implement broad-based price increases across most product categories in Europe and North America in the second quarter of 2026, as it seeks to offset rising input costs.
The company said the increases are intended to mitigate inflation in logistics and chemicals, which has weighed on profitability in recent months.
The pricing actions come as market conditions remain challenging in Europe, where oversupply and weak demand continue to pressure prices, while North America shows more stable conditions.
In the first quarter, Billerud reported declining selling prices alongside higher volumes, underscoring the gap between demand recovery and pricing power.
The company also pointed to ongoing geopolitical tensions, including the impact of the Middle East conflict on supply chains and cost structures, as a factor contributing to market uncertainty.
Despite the pricing measures, Billerud expects continued pressure in Europe in the near term, while North America is expected to maintain stronger underlying profitability.
Billerud is a Sweden-based producer of paper and packaging materials, serving customers globally.
