Essity has been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum medal for 2025, placing the global hygiene and health company among the top 1% of all organizations assessed worldwide for sustainability performance.

With an overall score of 88 out of 100—an improvement over previous years—the recognition reflects Essity’s continued progress in environmental and social responsibility.

EcoVadis evaluates more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries and 250 industries. Its methodology examines four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. In the 2025 assessment, Essity achieved “Outstanding” or “Advanced” ratings across all major categories, with notable strengths in environmental performance, ethical business conduct and transparent reporting.

The rating highlights Essity’s comprehensive policies and measurable actions, including disclosure of progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals. EcoVadis’ evidence-based approach requires companies to demonstrate tangible results, not only strong commitments on paper.

Sahil Tesfu, Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer at Essity, said the recognition reflects the company’s long-term focus on responsible growth.

“Sustainability is at the heart of Essity’s strategy and daily operations. This Platinum rating from EcoVadis is a testament to the dedication of our teams worldwide and our ongoing efforts to create long-term value for people, society and the environment.”

EcoVadis is widely regarded as one of the most trusted independent providers of sustainability ratings for global value chains. Each company receives a detailed scorecard outlining strengths and areas for improvement, along with a medal level based on percentile ranking.

Essity said it routinely shares these results with customers and partners to support transparency and collaboration across its markets.
