Domtar has named Tony Clary as mill manager at its Kingsport Mill in Kingsport, Tennessee, placing a long-time internal leader at the helm of one of the company’s most strategic converted assets.
Clary has worked at the Kingsport Mill since 2023, holding successive roles in production, OCC (old corrugated containers) and utilities before stepping in as interim mill manager. His appointment formalizes that transition as the site continues to ramp up recycled containerboard operations.
With 27 years in the paper industry, Clary has managed high-volume manufacturing operations across multiple producers, with a focus on operational reliability, process optimization, and compliance with environmental and safety standards. A graduate in Pulp & Paper Science and Technology from North Carolina State University, Clary played a key role during the mill’s conversion phase.
Originally opened in 1916, the Kingsport site became Domtar’s first fully recycled packaging facility in January 2023 and now operates one of North America’s largest containerboard machines.
Rildo Martini, Domtar’s vice president of Packaging Operations, said Clary will focus on supporting operational stability while maintaining strong ties with employees and the surrounding community.
