Kimberly-Clark has appointed John Carmichael as President, North America, effective September 15.
He succeeds interim president Kurt Laufer, who will return to his previous role as President of U.S. Consumer Sales.
In his new position, Carmichael will oversee Kimberly-Clark’s personal care, family care, and professional businesses across the United States and Canada. He will report to Russ Torres, President and Chief Operating Officer.
Carmichael brings more than 30 years of experience from Nestlé, where he most recently served as President and CEO of Nestlé Canada, managing a broad portfolio including ice cream, coffee, confectionery, nutrition, and pet care. Under his leadership, Nestlé Canada achieved consistent growth and fostered a purpose-driven culture focused on innovation and community impact.
Earlier in his career, Carmichael held senior roles at Nestlé USA, including President of the Foods and Beverage divisions and Vice President of Sales and Customer Development. He has led brand repositioning initiatives, business turnarounds, strategic acquisitions, and the scaling of emerging businesses.
“I’m honored to join Kimberly-Clark and lead its North America business at such a pivotal moment,” Carmichael said. “I look forward to working with the team to build on the company’s legacy and grow its iconic brands.”
Kimberly-Clark, known for brands such as Huggies, Kleenex, Scott, and Kotex, operates in more than 175 countries and holds leading market positions in about 70. The company is focused on delivering “Better Care for a Better World” through sustainable practices and community engagement.
