Lecta Group CEO Gilles Van Nieuwenhuyzen will retire on April 30, as the company completes its restructuring and division into three independent businesses.
The move follows the group’s recent recapitalisation and the separation of its operations into distinct entities, each with its own management and financing structure. The reorganisation eliminates the Group CEO role going forward.
The three companies now operating independently are Garda Group, focused on fine papers and distribution, Adestor Self-Adhesives, and a Specialties division centred on Torraspapel.
Corrado Lignana will lead Garda Group, bringing experience in commercial roles across fine papers and specialty products. Ricard Balart will continue as CEO of Adestor Self-Adhesives, a position he has held since 2022. Ruben Hernando has been appointed interim CEO of the Specialties business from May 1, with a permanent appointment expected at a later stage.
Van Nieuwenhuyzen said the transition marks a natural step following the completion of the group’s financial restructuring and organisational changes.
Lecta Chairman Javier Abad said the outgoing CEO had led the company through a period marked by energy, pricing and geopolitical volatility, while advancing its strategic transformation.
Lecta is a European producer of specialty papers and self-adhesive materials, serving a range of industrial and commercial applications.
