Valmet Appoints David Nelson as Interim North America Head

Valmet has announced the appointment of David Nelson as interim Head of its North American business, effective January 1, 2025.

Nelson will assume this role in addition to his current responsibilities as Vice President, Sales and Marketing, North America.

Nelson brings extensive experience to this position, with over 35 years of leadership in the pulp and paper industry. Prior to his current role, he led Valmet's Services Sales Team in North America and served as Director of Sales, US North.

In his interim role, Nelson will focus on maintaining the momentum of Valmet's North American operations and guiding the North American management team. He will report directly to Valmet President and CEO Thomas Hinnerskov.

"David is a highly respected and experienced leader within our organization," said Hinnerskov. "I am confident in his ability to effectively lead the North American business during this interim period."

This appointment follows the departure of Jukka Tiitinen from his position as Head of Valmet's North American business.
