RDM Group has introduced Vincicoat PLUS (V+), a new coated recycled cartonboard designed to combine higher strength with reduced packaging weight.

According to the company, the new grade delivers 15–20% higher strength than its standard white-lined chipboard (WLC) while maintaining a minimum 85% recycled fibre content. Improved square stiffness increases resistance to bending in both machine and cross directions, helping boxes maintain their structure during conversion, transport and stacking.

The enhanced structural performance allows converters and brand owners to reduce packaging weight by up to 20%, or maintain current grammages while improving compression resistance and product protection. RDM Group says this supports lower material consumption while maintaining packaging performance.

Vincicoat PLUS has been validated through laboratory tests and industrial trials, including box compression and high-speed conversion testing. A hard-sized version with low water absorbency is also available for frozen or humid environments.

The grade is engineered and produced at RDM Group’s Santa Giustina mill in Italy, leveraging the company’s expanded European mill network following the integration of Sweden’s Fiskeby mill.

“With Vincicoat PLUS, brand owners can achieve the strength and reliability they need while reducing material use and maximizing recycled fibre content,” said Krzysztof Krajewski, Chief Sustainability and Innovation Officer at RDM Group.

RDM Group is a leading producer of cartonboard for packaging, headquartered in Milan, Italy. The company operates eight mills across Europe and supplies cartonboard used in packaging for food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other consumer goods.
