UPM has announced that its UPM Raflatac business area and reporting segment will be renamed UPM Adhesive Materials as of June 12, 2025, marking a strategic shift that reflects the company’s broader ambitions in the self-adhesive materials sector.
The new name will be adopted in official reporting from Q2 2025 and aligns with UPM’s goal of expanding beyond traditional label materials into graphics solutions and specialty tapes. While the corporate identity is evolving, UPM Raflatac will remain a globally recognized product brand within the label offering.
“This name change reflects our expanded portfolio and growth aspirations, while emphasizing the value we bring to customers through adhesive material performance,” said Tim Kirchen, Executive Vice President of UPM Adhesive Materials.
The renamed business area draws on UPM’s deep expertise in adhesives and high-performance materials, and has made significant progress in graphics applications through the acquisitions of AMC AG, Grafityp, and Metamark. These acquisitions have allowed UPM to diversify its offerings and strengthen its market position across a broader range of applications.
UPM Adhesive Materials supplies innovative self-adhesive products such as labeling materials, graphics media, and technical tapes, and offers tailored services to support customers worldwide. With approximately 3,200 employees, the unit is one of UPM’s fastest-growing global businesses. In 2024, it generated nearly €1.6 billion ($1.7 billion) in sales.
UPM is a Finnish company providing renewable and responsible solutions across six business areas: UPM Fibres, UPM Energy, UPM Raflatac, UPM Specialty Papers, UPM Communication Papers, and UPM Plywood. The company is committed to sustainable development and employs more than 16,600 people globally, with an annual revenue of approximately €10.5 billion.
