After a decade as president of Compañía Manufacturera de Papeles y Cartones (CMPC), Luis Felipe Gazitúa is stepping down, making way for Bernardo Larraín Matte, a member of the company's controlling group.
This strategic change, officially announced, marks a new phase for this leading forestry and cellulose industry company in Latin America.
The decision was confirmed in a statement to the Financial Market Commission. The controlling group expressed its support for Larraín Matte, who will be formally elected at the shareholders' general meeting scheduled for April. Under Gazitúa's leadership, CMPC firmly established itself as a major regional player while adopting exemplary practices in sustainability and industrial performance.
Despite Gazitúa's departure, a smooth transition is expected. Larraín Matte will bring deep expertise and strategic vision to maintain the company's momentum while addressing new challenges in the sector.
