Smurfit Westrock plc has announced a leadership change within its Latin America (LATAM) operations.
Jairo Lorenzatto, President and CEO of LATAM, will step down from his role on January 31, 2025, citing personal reasons. He will continue in a non-executive advisory role until March 1, 2025, to facilitate a smooth transition.
Alvaro Henao, currently Senior Vice President of Integration at Smurfit Westrock, will assume the LATAM CEO position effective February 1, 2025. Henao brings extensive experience to his new role, having spent 36 years at Smurfit Kappa Group plc, including a decade as CEO of the Central Cluster.
“Jairo Lorenzatto’s leadership has been instrumental to our success in Latin America,” the company stated. “We thank him for his contributions and welcome Alvaro Henao as he steps into this critical role.”
The transition comes as Smurfit Westrock continues to strengthen its global presence following the 2024 merger of Smurfit Kappa Group plc and WestRock Company.
