Smurfit Westrock has published its first Sustainability Report, marking a key milestone since the 2024 merger of Smurfit Kappa and WestRock.
The report combines verified performance data from both legacy companies and outlines how Smurfit Westrock is delivering sustainable packaging solutions at scale. Notable highlights include the production of 16,000 recyclable cardboard bed frames for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the receipt of over 100 awards for sustainable and innovative packaging, and the successful issuance of $2 billion in Green Finance.
“This report demonstrates that sustainability is at the core of our business and shows how paper-based packaging is made with inherently sustainable materials,” said Garrett Quinn, Chief Sustainability Officer. “It also shows how circular business models make good business sense.”
The report underscores Smurfit Westrock’s ambition to lead the paper-based packaging sector by embedding sustainability throughout its operations and value chain.
