Paper Advancement

Ecowipes has successfully commissioned its WLM 2 nonwovens line and received the Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC), marking a significant step forward in sustainable wipe production.

The new line, developed in partnership with Voith, integrates the first-ever application of the FloatLip Former for baby wipe production. This innovative forming concept offers a compact, energy-efficient alternative to conventional systems, optimized for Ecowipes’ specific needs.

Located in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, the WLM 2 line operates at a design speed of 300 meters per minute and produces about 20,000 tons of material annually. It manufactures carded/pulp (CP) wipes made from 60% pulp and 40% viscose — a 100% plastic-free and biodegradable blend that meets the growing demand for eco-friendly hygiene products.

The collaboration between Ecowipes and Voith has combined technical expertise and a shared commitment to sustainability, resulting in high-performance, environmentally responsible production. Voith will continue to provide service and optimization support for the line’s ongoing operation.

With the successful start-up of WLM 2, Ecowipes reinforces its position as a European leader in plastic-free nonwoven solutions, setting a benchmark for sustainable manufacturing in the hygiene sector.
