“Be persistent. Take chances. Believe in yourself – even if that means making mistakes, always get back up stronger. Build a team; build a crew; build a squad around you. Look for mentors. Collaborate with others, and help others around you succeed.”
Lori Kilgour, senior vice president, Process Improvement and chief information officer, shared these words of wisdom for women entering the manufacturing sector during the 2022 Women in Manufacturing virtual summit, held on March 22. Lori also discussed her career trajectory, her role at Resolute, and urged more women to join her in taking their places at decision-making tables.
Lori is an inspirational leader who is making a difference by advocating for diverse and inclusive workplaces that reflect today’s society. She encourages women as well as ethnic and visible minorities to consider a career in IT and in forest products, believing strongly that more diversity in decision-making will lead to better decisions and improved business performance over time. Last year, Lori received a Globee® Award ® (gold) in the Excellence in Industry Woman of the Year – Manufacturing category at the 14th annual Women World Awards® competition in recognition of her contributions to Resolute’s growth and success.
