Bracell, part of Singapore-based Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), is expanding its role in the pulp sector through projects that integrate renewable energy, environmental conservation, and social development in Brazil.
The company produces soluble and specialty pulp at industrial sites in São Paulo and Bahia, supported by forestry operations in Mato Grosso do Sul. Its facility in Lençóis Paulista, designed to operate entirely on renewable energy, has an annual capacity of up to three million tonnes of kraft pulp or two million tonnes of soluble pulp.
Bracell’s activities are guided by its Bracell 2030 Agenda, which sets out 14 goals across climate action, biodiversity, growth, and community empowerment. Commitments include reducing carbon emissions per tonne of product by 75% and removing 25 million tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere by 2030. The company also applies a “one-for-one” model: for every hectare of eucalyptus planted, it conserves one hectare of native vegetation, with a target of full equivalency by the end of 2025.
On the logistics side, Bracell has invested in infrastructure to lower transport emissions. Its Santos Port Terminal, upgraded with R$500 million in automation and digital systems, operates around the clock to support pulp exports. The Pederneiras Intermodal Terminal, developed with MRS Logística, shifts around 50,000 truck trips annually to rail, reducing CO₂ emissions on those routes by up to 60%.
Bracell also runs Bracell Social, a program supporting communities in more than 100 municipalities. Projects have reached over 160,000 people and include training for women entrepreneurs, technical support for farming families, and leadership development programs for education managers.
Employing more than 11,000 people, Bracell operates with a stated focus on long-term sustainability and regional development, combining industrial capacity with environmental and social initiatives.
