Kadant has signed a definitive agreement to acquire voestalpine Böhler Profil, an Austria-based specialist in custom-engineered steel profiles and industrial knives, further strengthening its Industrial Processing segment.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to Austrian regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Kadant said the acquisition will be financed primarily through borrowings under its revolving credit facility.
Founded more than 150 years ago, voestalpine Böhler Profil has built a strong reputation in tailor-made special profiles with complex geometries, as well as high-performance industrial knives used in demanding industrial applications. The company employs approximately 150 people and reported revenues of €51.5 million for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025.
Upon closing, the business will be integrated into Kadant’s Industrial Processing reporting segment and will operate under the name Kadant Profil GmbH & Co KG.
Kadant’s President and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey L. Powell said the acquisition enhances the company’s ability to serve customers requiring high-precision, niche solutions. He noted that voestalpine Böhler Profil has been a long-standing supply partner to several Kadant businesses, providing familiarity with its technical expertise, leadership, and operational capabilities.
From voestalpine Böhler Profil’s perspective, the transaction represents a strategic alignment with a global industrial technology provider. Managing Director Jörg Wagner highlighted Kadant’s deep process-industry knowledge, international footprint, and broad solutions portfolio as key factors supporting the company’s long-term development.
The acquisition reflects Kadant’s ongoing strategy to expand its capabilities in specialized industrial markets through targeted investments that complement its existing technologies and customer base.
