Domtar has reported improved scores across all categories in its latest CDP assessment, following its first group-wide sustainability disclosure since integrating its legacy operations.
In 2025, the company submitted a single CDP disclosure covering climate change, water security and forests, replacing separate submissions previously made by legacy Domtar and Resolute Forest Products. The results show gains in every assessed area, including an A- score for forests, B ratings for both climate change and water security, and an A score in the newly introduced commodities (timber) category.
The improved forests score reflects progress in responsible fibre sourcing, deforestation prevention and sustainable forest management across Domtar’s operations. Climate and water scores also increased compared with legacy disclosures, with water security reported at the group level for the first time.
Domtar said the integrated disclosure was supported by cross-functional collaboration involving environmental, forestry, procurement and sustainability teams. While participation in CDP is voluntary, the company notes that the framework has become an important reference for customers assessing supplier sustainability performance.
CDP is a global non-profit organization that evaluates companies annually on environmental transparency and action across climate change, forests, water security and commodities management. Results are publicly disclosed to support benchmarking and accountability.
Domtar said the 2025 results provide a baseline for advancing its integrated sustainability strategy toward its 2030 objectives.
Domtar is a North American producer of pulp, paper, packaging and wood-based products.
