The Board of Directors of Pixelle Specialty Solutions has appointed Julie Schertell as Chief Executive Officer.
She succeeds Ross Bushnell, who is stepping down to pursue new opportunities but will remain as an advisor through September to ensure a smooth transition.
Schertell brings more than three decades of leadership in the specialty materials industry, having served as President and CEO of both Mativ Holdings and Neenah Inc. At those companies, she spearheaded large-scale transformations, portfolio repositioning, and operational improvements that drove growth and profitability. She also held senior roles at Georgia-Pacific earlier in her career.
“Pixelle has a strong core business, with unique capabilities and a talented team,” said Schertell. “As we enter this new chapter, I am excited to lead the company forward by investing in our Spring Grove site and strengthening customer relationships through innovation and quality.”
The Board acknowledged Bushnell’s contributions, which included overseeing the sale of the Stevens Point, Wisconsin mill and guiding the company through the closure of its Chillicothe, Ohio facility.
Pixelle has recently focused on repositioning its portfolio and investing in its Spring Grove operations to improve productivity, cost efficiency, and quality. With Schertell at the helm, the company aims to build on this foundation to deliver long-term value for customers and employees.
Headquartered in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, Pixelle Specialty Solutions is a leading manufacturer of specialty papers in North America. The company delivers high-performance solutions across a wide portfolio, with a focus on innovation, quality, and collaboration.
