Borregaard ASA has appointed Tom Erik Foss-Jacobsen as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2025.
He will succeed Per A. Sørlie, who is stepping down after 26 years in the role and 35 years with the company.
Foss-Jacobsen currently serves as Executive Vice President of BioSolutions, overseeing lignin-based biopolymers and vanillin products. He has held various leadership roles within Borregaard for over two decades and brings a deep understanding of both the company’s global operations and its strategic vision.
“Tom Erik Foss-Jacobsen has delivered strong results and helped shape a unified company culture,” said Helge Aasen, Chair of Borregaard’s Board. “We’re confident in his ability to lead Borregaard into its next phase of sustainable growth.”
Foss-Jacobsen expressed gratitude and commitment: “I’m proud of what we’ve built and excited to help drive further progress. With a strong foundation and a talented team, we’re well-positioned to create long-term value for all stakeholders.”
Outgoing CEO Per A. Sørlie is credited with transforming Borregaard into a global bio-based specialty chemicals leader. Since the company’s 2012 listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange, Sørlie has driven significant growth and fostered a strong commercial culture.
Borregaard’s Board has approved a stock option grant for Foss-Jacobsen, in line with its long-term incentive program.
