Weyerhaeuser to Sell Princeton Mill to Gorman Group

Industry News

Weyerhaeuser has agreed to sell its Princeton, B.C., lumber mill to the Gorman Group for approximately CAD $120 million.

The deal includes the manufacturing facility and associated timber licenses, with closing expected in the third quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approval.

Gorman Bros. Lumber, the mill’s largest customer and part of the West Kelowna–based Gorman Group, has longstanding ties to the operation. The family-owned company has been active in the forest products sector for nearly 75 years.

“It was important for us to sell to a local buyer with strong regional roots,” said Weyerhaeuser CEO Devin Stockfish. “Gorman has been a trusted partner, and this transition supports long-term stability for the mill and community.”

Gorman Group CEO Nick Arkle welcomed the acquisition, calling it “a natural fit” that will strengthen the company and sustain local jobs.

Weyerhaeuser will continue to operate the mill until the transaction is finalized. The company’s other Canadian operations remain unaffected.
