Feldmuehle GmbH has filed for insolvency under self-administration as soaring energy and raw material costs strain its operations.
The company submitted its application to the Pinneberg Local Court on May 26 under Sections 270 and 270b of the German Insolvency Act. The court approved provisional self-administration the next day and appointed Andreas Romey of Eckert Rechtsanwälte as provisional administrator.
Despite efforts to improve profitability, rising variable costs and lower-than-expected revenues left the paper manufacturer unable to stabilize its finances. Management will retain operational control during the restructuring, supervised by the appointed administrator.
The company aims to restore long-term competitiveness and expects production to resume around Whitsun.
