SCA has announced a price increase of €60 per tonne on both brown and white kraftliner grades sold in Europe.
The new pricing will take effect on May 1, 2025.
According to the company, the decision comes amid solid market demand and persistent cost pressures across the supply chain.
“The market demand for kraftliner remains solid with a good balance in the supply chain,” said Mikael Frölander, Vice President Marketing and Sales at SCA Containerboard. “The continued cost pressure is evident and must be managed in order to safeguard stable supply of kraftliner.”
The move reflects ongoing inflationary trends affecting input costs such as energy, logistics, and raw materials—challenges that have impacted the broader pulp and paper industry over the past year. SCA’s price adjustment follows similar actions taken by other European kraftliner producers earlier in 2025.
Kraftliner, made from unbleached virgin fibers, is a critical component in the production of corrugated packaging used across consumer goods, e-commerce, and industrial sectors.
