François Fillion, who holds a bachelor’s in commerce (accounting major) from McGill University and a master’s in accounting from UQAM, joined Cascades in 2009.

Starting as a financial analyst, he advanced through key roles: director of accounting and consolidation, corporate controller, then VP finance for corporate operations, the tissue group, and finally packaging.

His rise reflects strong skills, leadership, and ability to build high-performing teams. He led several strategic projects that helped transform the organization.

“François is a capable leader driven to make Cascades more efficient, agile, and high-performing,” said Hugues Simon, president and CEO. “His deep knowledge of our operations and leadership qualities will help embed our culture of excellence, prioritize value-creating initiatives, and optimize our assets and talent.”

Founded in 1964, Cascades offers sustainable, innovative solutions in packaging, hygiene, and recovery. The company employs about 9,500 people across 65 North American production units. Its shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (CAS).
