Lecta has announced an expansion of its EraCup range, introducing several new board grades tailored to the evolving sustainability requirements of food and beverage packaging.
The updated portfolio supports recyclability, compostability, and circularity for single-use cups and food containers.
The new offering includes EraCup Natural, EraCup 1PE 10, EraCup 1PE 15, and EraBase, all developed to meet the growing demand for responsible paper-based packaging in the food service sector.
All EraCup grades are made from Solid Bleached Board (SBB) sourced from sustainably managed forests. They are fully recyclable through standard paper streams and meet stringent food safety standards. Several options are now certified for both industrial and home compostability.
EraCup Natural, previously certified for industrial composting, now holds home compostability certification across all grammages. It features an aqueous dispersion coating for effective barrier properties in food and beverage use.
EraCup 1PE 10 and 1PE 15 introduce a polyethylene-coated reverse side in two thicknesses (10 and 15 g/m²), offering greater flexibility in cup manufacturing.
The newly launched EraBase is an uncoated and untreated SBB board designed for custom converting processes such as extrusion or lamination, offering another versatile option for food service applications.
All products in the expanded EraCup range are designed to support high-quality printing, reliable liquid resistance, and compatibility with various cup-forming technologies, including heat and ultrasonic sealing. They are available in a wide range of grammages to suit both hot and cold beverage applications.
Lecta positions this range expansion as part of its broader commitment to sustainable product development. “This marks a new step in our journey toward a New Era of Responsibility,” the company stated, citing the EraCup range as a contribution to the circular economy and more responsible packaging systems.
