Kimberly-Clark has announced a record-breaking $2 billion investment over five years to expand its U.S. manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure—its largest domestic investment in more than 30 years.

The expansion will center on two major projects: the construction of a new advanced manufacturing facility in Warren, Ohio, and the creation of a high-tech automated distribution center at its Beech Island, South Carolina site. The initiative is expected to create over 900 skilled jobs in industrial automation and advanced manufacturing.

The Warren facility, spanning more than one million square feet, will serve as a major hub for Kimberly-Clark’s fast-growing personal care categories, leveraging proprietary technologies to develop next-generation products. Strategically located near 117 million consumers, the site positions the company to meet rising demand for household staples like Huggies, Kleenex, and Cottonelle.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine welcomed the move, highlighting the state's workforce and industrial appeal. JobsOhio CEO J.P. Nauseef added that the decision reflected close collaboration between state and local entities.

The Beech Island site, already Kimberly-Clark’s largest facility, will benefit from a new AI-powered, fully automated regional distribution center. The upgrade is expected to streamline logistics, increase direct-to-retail shipping, and support broader supply chain transformation efforts.

“This is about creating a simpler, faster, and smarter network,” said Tamera Fenske, Chief Supply Chain Officer. “We’re combining manufacturing and distribution under one automated roof to enhance resilience and drive long-term productivity.”

Construction for both projects begins in May 2025, with completion anticipated within two to three years. The investment follows Kimberly-Clark’s ongoing company-wide transformation program, aimed at strengthening its global competitiveness.
