Kruger Products to Build New TAD Tissue Plant in the U.S.

Industry News

Kruger Products has unveiled plans to build a new state-of-the-art tissue facility in the western United States, a major investment designed to support the company’s fast-growing U.S. consumer tissue business.

The announcement accompanied the company’s third-quarter financial release.

The project includes a modern through-air-dry (TAD) machine and associated converting lines, with an estimated annual capacity of 75,000 metric tonnes. Production is expected to begin in 2028.

Kruger Products has invested more than $1 billion in Canadian manufacturing since 2018, and the new U.S. site marks the next phase of its North American expansion strategy. The facility will enhance service to U.S. retailers and strengthen the company’s position in the premium and ultra-premium tissue categories.

Location selection is in its final stages and will be announced along with detailed project scope and financing. The investment is expected to be funded 40% through equity and incentives and 60% through project-finance debt, via an unrestricted subsidiary of Kruger Products.

CEO Dino Bianco said the project reflects growing demand for high-performance tissue products. “We are proud to announce the construction of a new, modern TAD tissue facility… to meet rising demand for our ultra-premium products,” he said.

Once completed, the plant will operate alongside the company’s Memphis facility and nine Canadian sites, forming a stronger North American production network.

Kruger Products Inc. is a North American tissue manufacturer serving retail, private label and Away-From-Home markets. The company operates ten FSC® COC-certified facilities in Canada and the U.S. and produces brands such as Cashmere, Purex, SpongeTowels, Scotties, White Swan and White Cloud.
