Laurentide Controls has inaugurated its sixth service center in Bécancour, strengthening proximity-based support for industrial sites in Québec and Eastern Canada.
The official opening brought together more than a hundred industry partners, business leaders and public officials, highlighting the strategic importance of the investment for the region.
The new 20,000-square-foot facility is designed to reduce unplanned downtime, stabilize production and improve energy efficiency. By locating closer to industrial plants outside Montréal, the company can provide faster, more effective interventions and support on-site training.
Located in the heart of the Québec Energy Transition Valley (VTE), near port infrastructure and major energy facilities, the center sits at a key industrial hub. It features a repair and assembly workshop for valves and pumps, a simulation area, and dedicated training spaces to support workforce development. About ten new hires are planned in the coming months.
Laurentide Controls, a Québec-based company fully owned by its employees, is also integrating sustainability into its expansion. Initiatives include a locally manufactured solar wall, a gradual transition to electric vehicles, and increased reliance on regional suppliers.

The launch of the center builds on Laurentide’s internal Value Blueprint, a proprietary model that measures performance gains in reliability, productivity, energy efficiency and cost reductions. Since 2023, the company reports that the model has generated more than $3 billion in measurable benefits for industries in Eastern Canada. Its long-term target: more than $100 billion in cumulative impact by 2033.
Steve Dustin, President and CEO, highlighted the center’s role:
“We are strengthening our proximity, supporting local industries and investing in solutions that foster competitiveness, productivity and sustainability. Bécancour is far more than a strategic location. It is the beating heart of the Québec Energy Transition Valley and a driver of economic development for the province.”
Alain Lemieux, President and CEO of the VTE, emphasized the contribution of the center:
“The Laurentide Controls center in Bécancour will play a strategic role in our region. It will provide technical services but also serve as a key hub for training and workforce development. By supporting the VTE, Laurentide Controls is helping industrialize future-ready technologies such as electrification, energy storage, decarbonization and critical and strategic minerals.”
Already active in the region for more than 50 years, the company deepens its role in industrial modernization and the transition to Industry 4.0. Its teams support manufacturers in automation, digitalization and process optimization. Laurentide Controls also strengthens its local presence through community engagement and regional business partnerships.
With this new center, the company expands its regional footprint and reinforces its commitment to performance, proximity and sustainable growth.
Laurentide Controls is an industrial integrator specializing in automation, reliability and digital transformation. As Emerson’s impact partner in Eastern Canada, the company supports industrial sites in process optimization, risk reduction and their transition toward Industry 4.0 environments.
