The Fibre Box Association (FBA) announced that Christian Fischer, President and CEO of Georgia-Pacific, will be the keynote speaker for its 2024 Annual Meeting.
Fischer, a distinguished leader in the industry, has been recognized with the prestigious "Executive Papermaker of the Year" award by PaperAge. He brings extensive experience, having served in various leadership roles within Georgia-Pacific and on the FBA's Board of Directors.
Under Fischer's guidance, Georgia-Pacific has significantly invested in its business, employees, and communities, emphasizing long-term value creation. Fischer's career at Georgia-Pacific began in Europe in 1989, and he rose through the ranks to assume his current position in 2017. He is fluent in multiple languages, including English, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
In addition to his role at Georgia-Pacific, Fischer is actively involved in industry organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors for the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and contributes to various community and business-focused boards, such as the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and The Board of Councilors for The Carter Center.
