Strengthens Footprint in Eastern Europe, Focuses on Sustainable Packaging Solutions

DS Smith, a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, announced the successful acquisition of Bosis doo, a high-quality packaging company based in Serbia. This strategic move strengthens DS Smith's presence in Eastern Europe and bolsters their commitment to providing innovative and eco-friendly packaging options.

Bosis doo, a family-owned business established in 1982, boasts a strong reputation for serving fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) clients. The company's expertise perfectly complements DS Smith's regional strategy, which prioritizes both sustainable packaging solutions and continued growth throughout Eastern Europe.

"We're thrilled to welcome Bosis doo to the DS Smith family," said Miles Roberts, Group Chief Executive at DS Smith. "Together, we'll create a leading force in the region, catering to the growing demand for sustainable alternatives to plastic packaging, especially in Serbia."

The combined expertise of DS Smith and Bosis doo will allow them to offer a wider range of cutting-edge packaging solutions. This aligns with DS Smith's ongoing commitment to sustainability, evidenced by their achievement of replacing over 762 million plastic units since March 2020.

"We're firmly committed to assisting our clients in achieving their environmental goals," Roberts added. "The acquisition of Bosis doo will significantly enhance our ability to do so throughout Eastern Europe."

The acquisition expands DS Smith's Eastern European network to 30 box plants and various other facilities, employing over 7,000 people across the region. Bosis doo's 140 employees, based in Valjevo, Serbia, will join the DS Smith team.
