Free of plastic, the paper is one of the company's solutions, celebrating its 100-year history, for a more sustainable future.

Suzano, a global leader in the production of bioproducts developed from eucalyptus cultivation, has started producing Greenpack at its industrial unit in Limeira (SP). The paper developed by the company is innovative and stands out as a versatile and sustainable alternative for flexible packaging, promoting green entrepreneurship and exemplifying Suzano's commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.

Developed from renewable sources, Greenpack is plastic-free, biodegradable, and compostable. The paper offers various functionalities, such as grease and water vapor barriers, as well as being ready for printing and converting processes. With options ranging from high-quality print products to those not requiring barriers, Greenpack stands out as a sustainable choice for a variety of applications, including packaging for toilet paper, soaps, and chocolates.

According to Guilherme Dabdab, Executive Manager for Strategy and Marketing at Suzano, Greenpack represents the premises of "innovability," where innovation serves sustainability. “At Suzano, we believe sustainable packaging brings significant changes to people’s lives and the planet. Our commitment is clear: to provide 10 million tons of renewable source products by 2030. Greenpack is not just a packaging solution; it reflects our commitment to innovate towards a better future.”

In addition to promoting the reduction of environmental impact, the product also drives the circular economy by reducing the use of non-renewable resources, minimizing waste, stimulating innovation, and reducing environmental impact.

With the growing demand for eco-friendly products, Greenpack opens doors for Suzano in markets where environmental concern is a significant competitive advantage. “Increasing the availability of renewable source products, beyond those traditionally produced by the company, enables a transitional economy and strengthens the consolidation of a regenerative economy. Greenpack is a solution that companies can adopt to reduce the environmental impact of their packaging, as this paper has the potential to impact carbon emission reduction, which is crucial in combating the climate crisis and the pressure on natural resources,” emphasizes Guilherme.

Suzano's Value Chain ensures sustainability at all stages of the Greenpack production process. It all starts with planting and cultivating eucalyptus, which is then taken to the factory, processed, and turned into cellulose, lignin, and other derived products. At each stage, Suzano focuses on sustainability, good community relations, resource efficiency, and waste reduction.
