June 5, 2024 - Today, the Board of the Paper Workers’ Union confirmed collective labour agreements for all five UPM businesses, following a crucial meeting.

The agreements, covering Finnish mills and the biorefinery of UPM Pulp, UPM Communication Papers, UPM Specialty Papers, UPM Raflatac, and UPM Biofuels, mark the culmination of extensive negotiations. The final agreement was reached earlier today for UPM Specialty Papers, closing the last remaining open negotiation.

The newly ratified collective labour agreements will span a two-year contract period and take effect immediately. The agreed-upon wage increases will be implemented starting July 1, 2024.

"We are pleased that, after long and thorough negotiations, we have reached five agreements where we have jointly developed the content of the agreements to meet the needs of each business," said Riitta Savonlahti, Executive Vice President of HR at UPM.
