In an initiative to strengthen courageous leadership, J.D. Irving, Limited’s Woodlands and Sawmill divisions brought together 48 women leaders from across their operations to participate in the transformative Dare to Lead workshop earlier this fall in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
The program, based on the research of renowned author Brené Brown and facilitated by Janna Hare, founder and CEO of Spark Leadership, focused on developing leadership rooted in courage, authenticity, and clarity. Using the Dare to Lead framework, participants explored practical strategies to navigate complex challenges and to master the art of giving and receiving feedback effectively.
The interactive sessions sparked meaningful conversations about feedback—not just as a difficult task, but as a vital act of courageous leadership. By equipping participants with the right tools and mindset, the event emphasized leading with purpose and fostering a culture that supports women leaders across the organization.
J.D. Irving continues to invest in leadership programs that empower employees and cultivate an environment where women can lead boldly and authentically. The Women in Leadership: Dare to Lead event reflects the company’s commitment to inclusive growth and courageous leadership.
