Koehler Paper has partnered with organic ready-to-eat meal provider pack&satt to introduce a groundbreaking paper packaging solution for convenience products.
The new packaging, utilizing Koehler's "NexPlus® Advanced" flexible packaging paper, marks a significant shift in the food packaging industry towards more sustainable options.
Pack&satt's "einpott" meals, available in three flavors, are now protected by Koehler's innovative paper, which boasts exceptional oxygen, mineral oil, and grease barrier properties. This development comes in response to customer feedback and pack&satt's commitment to improving their environmental footprint.
Sophie Gnest, pack&satt's founder, expressed enthusiasm about the switch from glass jars to paper packaging: "We were tremendously happy when we found Koehler and saw that they offered the right packaging material for our needs."
Alexander Rauer, Head of Business Development for Flexible Packaging Paper Products at Koehler Paper, highlighted the focus on recyclability and product protection during the development of NexPlus® Advanced. The paper's recyclability has been confirmed by the Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) institute and environmental service provider Interzero.
This collaboration between Koehler Paper and pack&satt demonstrates a growing trend in the food industry towards eco-friendly packaging solutions. By replacing glass with recyclable paper, the companies are contributing to circular value creation and resource conservation, setting a new standard for sustainable packaging in the ready-to-eat meal sector.
