FSC Canada Welcomes New Forest Management Coordinator

FSC Canada is pleased to welcome Lauren Chisholm as FSC Canada’s new Forest Management Coordinator to the team!

Lauren will be working with our forest management team on the development and revision of FSC forest related standards (National Forest Stewardship Standard and National Risk Assessment) and related tools that support the implementation and monitoring of these standards. 

Lauren enjoyed working in silviculture and operations as an Assistant Forester on the Forest Management team at Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve. Through her subsequent work experience in Northern Ontario and in British Columbia, she found her main interests lie in forest policy and the advancement of social equity, particularly in upholding the rights of Indigenous Peoples in natural resources management.

Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lauren also studied intercultural communications at Nanyang School of Business - NTU Singapore.

Lauren begins her new role on August 28, 2023, and is based out of Revelstoke, BC.
