SIRANE has added plastic-free and recyclable butter wrap to our sustainable Earth Packaging range – with a number of different barrier options available including a metallic effect offering traditional silver and gold papers.
Our Earthfilm Butter-Wrap uses coated papers to provide an easily recyclable alternative to the butter-wraps commonly used currently in the industry.
All coatings are eco-friendly water-based barrier coatings - providing the necessary grease and moisture barrier – and even our print option is eco-friendly.
Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, said: “We’re expanding our popular Earthfilm range by adding butter-wraps, which are sustainable, recyclable and plastic-free.
“Our Earthfilm Butter-Wrap has to be exciting news for the butter industry. It’s got all the properties of butter-wraps traditionally used, but crucially is paper-recyclable. This means it can be easily recycled kerbside throughout the United Kingdom and further afield.
“We can even provide metallic gold/silver papers, giving the same aesthetics as the packaging currently used – while still offering a paper-recyclable product. So manufacturers who still want their traditional gold-looking or silver-looking butter packs, where it ifs a part of their branding, can still do so.”
Options for our recyclable butter-wrap include standard, Xtra (with moisture barrier on both sides) and metallised film (Ultra) with higher barrier as well as the metallised finish. We can also supply the materials as lids for butter packed in tubs.
All of our printing is done in-house using only water-based inks (which in themselves are more eco-friendly).
