Nordic Paper, a major Scandinavian pulp and paper manufacturer, has partnered with AFRY to modernize its production processes through AFRY's digital solution, AFRY PaperLine.

The pulp and paper company will implement AFRY's Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at four mills in Sweden and Norway. This includes configuring the software to integrate with existing mill systems and migrating data.

AFRY PaperLine is expected to automate and streamline Nordic Paper's workflows across its production units, enhancing efficiency and agility. The solution will provide support for automation, efficiency, and production safety.

Nordic Paper cited AFRY's local presence, global reach, focus on innovation, and flexible partnership approach as key factors in the selection. "We see AFRY as a long-term partner for our digitalization journey," said Patric Johansson, Nordic Paper's IT Manager.

The implementation began in March 2023 and is targeted for completion by 2025. Through this digital transformation, Nordic Paper aims to bolster its competitiveness in sustainable paper production.
